Camp Wannabethere | KidzTown
May 11 - 13
Location: Camp Wannabethere
Details: Camp Wannabethere is a ministry that reaches out to inner-city kids, providing constructive outdoor activities for boys and girls in the eight-to-twelve year-old age group. This ministry offers a biblically-based weekend camping experience for children, during which we mix fun with the Word of God. We teach campers survival training and outdoor safety, how to set up tents, campfire safety, outdoor cooking, canoeing and more. All campers will receive individual attention and will experience a safe environment where group participation and support of one another is encouraged.
Camp Wannabethere directors, David and Stephanie Gardner, are looking for volunteers and/or sponsors. The ministry started as an overnight campout in June 2008, with just four boys, and has grown to include an entire weekend adventure with over 30 boys and girls. The majority of the children are from Pine Manor, Sabal Palms and Lehigh Acres. There have been numerous salvations and six baptisms at Camp W. We are asking today for ministry partners, monthly donations of $50, and volunteers who will help this ministry to grow. Volunteers can be counselors, cooks, and/or prayer warriors. If you know of a child who would like to go camping, or if you would like to help with this ministry in any way, please call 936-6277 x338.
